The control module determines these automatically while driving so the learning values change against the mileage. The behavior of an injection valve is also mileage dependent, so a valve with e. In combination with the automatically determined learning values of the engine control module the pre- and post-injections are being calculated individually for each valve. Caused by manufacturing tolerances the injectors have a unique behavior and get divided into separate classes. These values represent the behavior of an injection valve Piezo Injector. Check and clear fault codes to make sure none are present. It's normal for that value to automatically change to 0 after it has been successfully saved. Is this true? It would seem odd to me to have the value not reset once a new DPF is put in. Here is my question After the replacement, my Ash Volume is still reading the same as before When I asked about this, I was told that VW does not have procedure built in to the system to reset this value after DPF replacement, and that it should reset itself. VW did end up covering half of the cost of the parts, and I got a deal on labor, so we replaced it. However, they wanted to pass the data on to VW to see if they would help with the cost, as this looked to be a possible part fault even at k ash and soot covering the outside of the parts, not a secure connection, possible exterior crack. Cleared a couple times, and would come back after a few hundred miles.Īfter and a quick inspection, and discussing with a couple VW techs, it was determined that a DPF and EGR were most likely clogged and may need to be replaced.
